Council -
The Courage to
Change
This year's annual banquet was a
great success with over 100 people
attending the event. There were
some great baskets to bid on. As
usual our cook did a great job and
the Prime Rib dinner was great.
Congratulations ti the 2012
winners. They are Mark Mahon, Man
of the Year, Christy Cole, Woman
of the Year, Shirley Hall
won Senior of the Year, Fishes and
Loaves Food Pantry won as the
Non-profit of the Year, and Shy
Simon's Pizza won as the Business
of the Year. Penny Latimer was
selected as the Teacher of the
Year. This year the chamber also
awarded two special awards. One
went to Justin Getusky for all of
his work on the High School shop
program. The other went to Evelyn
Snyder for all she has done for
the community and the school.
Plans are underway for the
4th of July celebration. Check
back for updates.

This view of downtown
Council changed when the old
People's Theater ( the brown
building in the front) collapsed
from the weight of a winter's snow.
