The tree will be at the Council Elementary School in Council, ID (Nov. 8 from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at 202 Michigan Ave.). It will be accompanied by the BIG IDAHO POTATO TRUCK, which will be carrying thousands of ornaments created by school-children across Idaho!
Sheriff Ryan Zollman will escort the tree to town along with several other EMS vehicles from Council and Indian Valley!
- Santa will be at the Elementary School with Smokey the Bea
- There will be commemorative items available to purchase
- There will be hot chocolate and apple cider available for a small fee
- The Adams County Health Center will be hosting a FREE Mini Health Fair in the Council Elementary School Library from 9am - 3pm
Following the celebration that is planned at the Elementary School, there will be a parade through Council. The parade will depart from the Elementary School at approx. 3:00 p.m.
The Elementary School Children will walk in the parade, following Sheriff Zollmans vehicle.
The Council High School will build floats to be in the parade. The floats will fall into line from the front of the High School at 101 E Bleeker Ave. Kim Mahon has graciously accepted the leadership role to meet with Sheriff Zollman to coordinate the parade line up.
Kim Mahon, Susan Trask and Jennie Jensen will Judge the floats. First place winners will receive “PIZZA FOR THE ENTIRE CLASS,” donated by the ADAMS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE! Second place will win a $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE, donated by the COUNCIL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & Third place will receive a $25 Gift Certificate donated by the 4th of July kids' games account.
Mr. McCormick – Superintendent/Secondary Principal and Ms. Green – Elementary Principal/Special Education Director, and their staff share in the planning with Ryan Zollman, Susan Trask, Kim Mahon, Julie E. Wilson, Jennie Jensen and Linda Rogers Bailey.
