Annual Bike Ride

The Annual Bike ride is a one day, fully supported bike ride. There are two options for length of ride. The ride is sponsored by Friends of the Weiser River Trail. Registration is at Blue Circle Sports.

Short Ride: This ride departs from the Council, Idaho trailhead at 9:00 am. Riders are shuttled to the northern end of the trail near New Meadows. It is a 28 mile ride back to Council. The route is mostly downhill and is excellent for beginner riders. The northern 20 miles of the trail is in forested canyons with rivers and bridges. The final 8 miles of the ride is through agricultural land with sections of the trail lined by trees.

Long Ride:  This ride departs from the Cambridge, Idaho trailhead at 8:15 am. Riders are shuttled to the northern end of the trail near New Meadows. It is a 48 mile ride back to Cambridge. The route is the same description as the short ride with the addition of 6 miles along the rolling hills south of Council and 14 miles along the Weiser River canyon to Cambridge.

Food:  There is a lunchstop at Council Senior Center. A light snack and water are available about 17 miles from the start of the ride. There is no snack for the Cambridge riders after the lunch at Council.

Support:  Both rides are supported by cyclists traveling with the groups and a sweep that assures everyone is off the trail.

Weiser River Wagon Train & Ride

Join us for a leisurely four day journey on a true Idaho Gem, the Weiser River Trail. Follow the Trail north through two counties, from Weiser to Council, as the terrain gently changes from farm country to the mountains surrounding Council. Enjoy a splendid hot breakfast (7 a.m.) (coffee is on at 5 a.m.) and dinner (6 p.m.) each day. Camp far from the madding crowds, with only the sounds of nature to lull you to sleep. Travel at your own speed and enjoy as many rest stops as you like each day. Please note you must provide your own lunch and carry your own drinking water each day.

For more information, please visit the Friends of the Weiser Trail website. The ride flyer and entry form can be found here.
